"We're going to be doing a new training activity today." Batman said, growling even though he wasn't realy mad. Or maybe he was, they couldn't really tell.

"What kind of training?" Robin asked eagerly, bouncing on the balls of his feet as he surveyed his mentor with excitement. Batman looked at him, but didn't berate him for the interruption. Kid Flash snorted mentally. Of course, Robin could get away with anything when it came to the big bad Bat.

"Black Canary feels that you have all learned hand-to-hand combat adequately."

Robin snickered as quietly as he could when he noticed Batman's gaze rest on Kid Flash.

"-but now you need to master weaponry and stealth."

"Yes!" Robin burst out, turning to his left and slapping a high-five with an all-too-ready Artemis, both of them grinning as they did so.

"Today, you'll be focusing on fighting without the use of powers, as preperation for any future situation where your abilities would have been rendered useless." Batman clarified. He raised his voice a little so he could be heard over Robin's celebrations, but never actually told the little gymnast to be quiet. Wally rolled his eyes.

"When I release you, you will immediately head to the training room where Red Tornado will give you further instructions. Dismissed." Batman said, nodding to the team.

He had to restrain a smile as he watched Robin cartwheel out of the room, whooping gleefully.

"Weapons training is useful for whenever you find that your powers are unhelpful." Red Tornado explained, his voice echoing throughout the large room.

"Please." Superboy huffed, crossing his arms.

"Well, you could always fall into bucket of Kryptonite!" Kid Flash supplied, poking Superboy's bicep teasingly. Superboy glared at him and M'gann looked horrified.

Robin burst out laughing. "Way to go, Kid Oblivious. Too bad superspeed doesn't make your brain go any faster." he chuckled, smiling even wider as Wally's ears burned pink.

"Wallace has a point. We all have our weaknesses." Red Tornado agreed. "For instance, I can be reprogrammed." he said bluntly.

"All Martians are weak against fire." M'gann said timidly, glancing at her teammates.

"Atlantians as well. We also cannot go for too long without a supply of water." Kaldur stated. Robin and Wally looked at eachother before they started to rattle off a whole list of things that could kill them.

"Fire." Wally said.

"Bullets." Robin added, shuddering a bit.

"Knives."

"Lasers."

"Zombies." Wally grinned.

"Ninjas." Robin grinned wider.

"Zombie ninjas." They chorused, both laughing and pounding their fists together.

"And that is why we need weapons." Red Tornado interrupted them before they could continue.

"Wait, we need to learn how to use weapons so that we aren't killed by zombie ninjas?" Superboy asked, his brows drawn together.

"...Yes."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Okay, start off with throwing things." Dinah Lance directed, handing everybody a small disc. She wetn down the row, until she reached Robin who grinned and shook his head, pulling out his own birdarang.

"That target," Canary pointed to a small wooden circle on the other side of the room, "One try, go."

Superboy was up first, but his shot was so strong that the disc went straight through the wood. Not even through the center. Wally didn't do much better; his shot bounced off the board and ended up in the ceiling. Aqualad and M'gann were a little better, the Atlantean's only a few inches from the center, the Martian's a few inches from that. Artemis's shot was only an inch off, and she smirked at her opponents.

"Superpowers ain't gonna help you now!" she said, a large smile blossoming on her face.

And then Robin walked up. He took a quick glance at the target, the spun around so that his back was facing the board. Closing his eyes, he fell forward into a handstand and then balanced on one hand, his other gripping the birdarang. His eyes still closed, he threw the disc.

It hit dead center.

"Show off." Wally muttered as Robin righted himself, lookin only faintly pleased with himself.

"Good job." Black Canary said, stepping forward. "But you have to- what's that?" A high whine had filled the air, and all seven people spun to look at the wooden target. Robin's disc was flashing.

The explosion was fantastic.

The heroes were blown over by the force, and it took a few seconds for the smoke to clear. Wally cursed as he felt his singed hair. "RO-OB!"

"Oops."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

By the end of the day, everybody was tired, sore, and certainly sure that they'd never want to get in a fight with Robin. The little hacker had taken first place in accuracy, stealth, explosives and hacking, and he had come in close second in archery, which, naturally, was won by Artemis.

"I am never doing this again!" Wally moaned, gripping his head which was still sore from when Robin had snuck up on him and walloped him. The others nodded fervently.

"I thought it was fun!" Robin chirped (A/N: lol get it? Robin "chirped"?) bouncing along next to his teammates. "Besides, we still have next week!"

Wally looked at him, dread in his eyes. "Next week?"
